The Voices on the Line Residency is an artist development program by the Maliek Community Arts Foundation (MCAF), designed to uplift and amplify voices through the power of performance, storytelling, and creative expression.
In alignment with MCAF’s mission to foster healing, creativity, and cultural pride, this residency supports artists who use their work to inspire, challenge, and connect with communities.
This year’s guiding theme, "Shine on Me," calls on artists to illuminate personal truths, cultural narratives, and collective resilience. Selected artists will explore this theme through their work and present their creations at three distinct showcase events.
Must be available to participate in all three scheduled events

Voices on the Line Residency is a developmental residency that uplifts and amplifies Artists of the Global Majority by providing a space for creative exploration, process-driven development, and public engagement. We believe that artistic voices shape culture and inspire change, and this residency is designed to nurture those voices with financial support, dedicated time and space, and performance opportunities.
Placing an emphasis on process over product, Voices on the Line supports artists in a pivotal phase of creating new work while fostering connections between art, community, and cultural identity. Through this residency, selected artists will explore, refine, and present their work across three curated events, all centered around the guiding theme "Shine on Me"—a call to illuminate personal and collective stories through movement, sound, and performance.
If you're an artist committed to using your work to spark dialogue, healing, and transformation, we invite you to learn more and apply today.
