Empowering the Future Through Arts & Education

The Maliek Community Arts Foundation (MCAF) is committed to transforming lives and fostering cultural awareness through dance, visual arts, music, theater, and education. Our mission is to provide access to arts programming for underrepresented communities, empowering young artists to inspire creativity, promote healing, and drive meaningful social change.

MCAF Afterschool Program

About the MCAF Afterschool Program

The MCAF Afterschool Program is a dynamic, 15-week initiative that empowers students to explore their artistic potential through dance and creative arts education. Designed to cultivate self-expression, collaboration, and cultural understanding, this program integrates restorative justice practices and creative frameworks to encourage both personal and social transformation. By merging dance with dialogue, students discover the power of their individual voices while learning to connect with and inspire their communities.

  Core Values - The 6 D’s:

  • Dance – Movement as a tool for self-expression

  • Dialogue – Storytelling and reflection to build emotional awareness

  • Discipline – Developing accountability and teamwork

  • Discovery – Exploring individual artistic styles

  • Dedication – Collaborative choreography and performance preparation

  • Development – Showcasing artistic growth in a community performance
